Making a Story--Workshop with 'Indie: Alaska' Documentary Team
Meet John and Hanna, documentarians behind the cameras of AK Public Media's "Indie: Alaska" series as they take you through the ins and outs of what it takes to make a story come to life!

Over the last three years, the AKPM team has filmed hundreds of interviews and had our work featureed throughout the state and country on public television and all over the world through YouTube. Meanwhile, they've refined how they setup, conduct and edit interviews to allow their subject to tell their story in their own words.

Join us for this FREE workshop and learn the ins and outs of capturing great stories!

John Norris is the senior video producer at Alaska Public Media and founder/organizer of the Anchorage 48-Hour Film Challenge. Norris spent much of his youth traveling around Alaska with his parents, who are both preachers. He spends much of his adult life watching action movies, telling jokes in dingy bars, and producing videos.

Hanna was born and raised in Alaska and has lived on the East and West coasts – Western Massachusetts for college and Portland, Oregon. For the past several years she has worked in media production and education across Alaska, collaborating with non-profits and school districts to produce documentary and educational media and facilitate film workshops.
